Understanding Highlighted Times in the Booking System
Hubhus Intelligent Booking analyzes travel time, schedule efficiency, and user preferences to highlight the best available time slots. This guide explains how the system finds optimal slots and how to configure each setting.

What are Highlighted Times?
Highlighted Times are time slots that Hubhus recommends based on travel efficiency and schedule compactness. Instead of simply listing all available times, the booking system evaluates each slot and surfaces the ones that minimize driving distance and keep your calendar organized. Customers can still book any available time, but the interface guides them toward the most efficient options.
Core Highlighting Settings
Suggest or Highlight the Most Optimal Time Slots
When enabled, Hubhus highlights slots that reduce travel time (and CO₂ emissions) while keeping schedules compact. Customers see these slots first, though all available times remain accessible.
Show All Time Slots When No Preference Exists
If multiple slots are equally efficient or no clear winner exists, Hubhus displays all available times. This ensures customers always see a full list and never encounter an empty screen.
Multi-Day Search Settings
Suggest Optimal Dates
Enable this setting to let Hubhus search across multiple days and suggest the best overall date-and-time combinations before customers explore the full calendar.
How Hubhus Scans Dates
The engine checks dates chronologically and stops once it finds a solid set of good slots based on transit time and near-future rules. If no slots qualify, it continues scanning and selects the dates with the lowest possible travel time. This approach keeps suggestions predictable and fast, even at scale.
Look Max. Days Into Future
Sets how far ahead Hubhus searches (for example, 14 days). Shorter ranges return faster, more relevant results. Longer ranges offer more flexibility but require slightly more processing time.
Suggest Different Days
Determines how many distinct dates Hubhus includes in its suggestions (for example, 3). This ensures variety when presenting options to customers.
Transit Thresholds
Absolute Transit of a Good Slot
A fixed threshold defining "good" travel time (for example, 15 minutes). Any slot below this value is considered optimal. Raise the threshold for faster results; lower it for stricter quality.
Relative Transit of a Good Slot
Adds tolerance around each day's best option. If the best slot has 12 minutes of travel time and the relative threshold is 10, slots up to 22 minutes still count as "good." This shows more choices without diluting quality.
Transit Threshold – Daily
A day-specific tolerance: any slot within this margin of that day's best option is treated as good (for example, within 15 minutes). Raise the value to display more same-day options; lower it for stricter filtering.
Transit Threshold – Global
A baseline that applies across all dates: any slot below this value (for example, 15 minutes) is considered good regardless of date. This keeps suggestions consistent throughout the search window.
Near-Future Prioritization
Suggest Slots in Near Future
Prioritizes the next few working days so customers can book sooner without the system scanning far ahead.
Transit for Near-Future Slots
Allows slightly higher travel times for near-term slots (for example, an additional 30 minutes beyond the absolute threshold). This balances speed with realistic availability.
Always Suggest Good Transits
When enabled, Hubhus continues searching until it finds at least one genuinely low-transit slot, even if acceptable near-future options exist. When disabled, it stops at the first acceptable time.
Per-Day Limits
Suggest Max. on the Same Day
Caps how many suggestions appear per day (often set to 1). Customers see only the best slot for each day rather than a long list.
Suggest Optimal Times (After a Date Is Picked)
Even after a customer selects a date, Hubhus highlights the top time(s) on that day, typically those with the shortest driving distance.
Last-Minute Booking Behavior
Allow Booking Less-Optimal Times
Controls behavior for short-notice bookings (for example, within 3 days). Hubhus can hide weaker options and show only good or near-optimal slots, making last-minute scheduling faster and smarter.
CO₂ Markers
Add a CO₂ icon to optimal or short-transit slots. This provides a subtle nudge toward efficient, lower-emission choices without restricting customer freedom.
Summary
Hubhus Highlighted Times combines efficiency (reduced travel), fairness (clear options for all customers), and sustainability (CO₂ awareness) into one intelligent booking experience. Adjust the thresholds and search windows to match your business rules, and let Intelligent Booking guide customers toward smarter time slots while you retain full control over the booking flow.
