Why your automation or message might not be working

If an automation triggers correctly but no email or SMS is sent, it's almost always one of two causes: the automation has hit its fire limit for that lead, or Hubhus' spam protection is silently blocking the message.

TL;DR

Check lead history first — did the automation run? If yes but no message sent, check the email/SMS template's spam protection settings (max per lead, frequency limit, unsubscribe rules). If the automation didn't run, check "Max. fires per order" in the automation trigger settings.

2 things to check

1

Automation has already fired — "Max. fires per order" reached

Every automation has a Max. fires per order setting that limits how many times it can trigger for the same lead. Default is often 1. If the trigger conditions are met again, the automation is silently skipped.

Fix: Campaign Settings → Automations → click the automation → Edit trigger → increase "Max. fires per order" (e.g. to 5 or 999999 for unlimited).

2

Spam protection is blocking the message

Hubhus has built-in spam controls in each email/SMS template that can silently block messages even when the automation fires correctly. Key rules to check:

  • Max. 1 email per lead: blocks duplicate emails from the same template to the same lead
  • Max. 1 email every 24 hours: frequency cap per recipient
  • Unsubscribed leads: may block all emails if configured to do so

Fix: Campaign Settings → email/SMS template → Spam protection. Adjust the relevant rule. For critical system messages, enable "This email is always allowed to be sent".

Quick diagnostic checklist

  • Open the lead → check Lead history — did the automation entry appear?
  • If the automation entry is missing: check "Max. fires per order" in the automation trigger
  • If the automation ran but no email/SMS: open the template → Spam protection
  • Check: max per lead, 24h frequency limit, unsubscribe flag on the lead
  • For recurring messages: set limit to "No limit" or 999999
  • For critical system messages: enable "Always allowed to be sent"
  • Test with a real lead + real email address to confirm delivery end-to-end
