Managing trusted IP addresses

Trusted IP addresses allow you to restrict access to your Hubhus account so that users can only log in from specific IP addresses or networks — adding an extra layer of security for sensitive accounts.

TL;DR

Go to Account → Users → Trusted IP addresses. Add each IP address or CIDR range (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24) with an optional label. Users trying to log in from non-whitelisted IPs are blocked — even with valid credentials. Combine with 2FA for maximum security.

3 things to know

1

Where to find and add IPs

Go to Account → Users → Trusted IP addresses tab. Click Add IP address and enter the IP address or CIDR range (e.g. 10.0.0.0/8) along with an optional label identifying the location (e.g. "Office Copenhagen"). Once saved, only users connecting from that address can log in.

2

How IP restrictions affect users

When restrictions are active, users on non-whitelisted IPs receive an access denied message at login — regardless of their password. Make sure all office, VPN, and remote IPs are added before enabling. Home internet connections typically use dynamic IPs; use VPN for remote workers needing consistent access.

3

Managing and maintaining the whitelist

Review the list regularly — remove outdated entries, add new office locations or VPN ranges as your organization changes. Use the delete icon next to any entry to remove it. Be careful: removing an IP that active users rely on will lock them out immediately. Combine with two-factor authentication (2FA) for maximum protection.
